Mr. Findley, who was born in Mercer county, this state, was 74 years of age and had spent the greater part of his life in this country, for quite a number of years having been a resident of the Fairview district. During the early eighties. Mr. Findley and his family removed to Butler and had since resided here with the exception of a year or so spent in Los Angeles, California. Mr. and Mrs. Findley and Miss Lucretia Findley, a daughter, having only returned from the West but two weeks ago. During his life in Butler, Mr. Findley was active in its affairs. An old time school teacher, Mr. Findley was deeply interested in educational matters and served for several years as a member of the Butler school board. He was well known in the city and was held in high esteem by all. Surviving the deceased are his widow, two daughters, Misses Ada Findley, Los Angeles, and Lucretia Findley, of Butler, and two sons, Donald, of California and Norman, of New York. A brother, D. W. O. Findley, resides on Walker avenue, and two sisters, Mrs. Evans and Miss Findley, are residents of Tarentum.
