  Thomas Fleming, aged ninety years, a Civil war veteran and retired farmer, 
  died at 5 oíclock yesterday morning at his residence in Bruin from infirmities 
  of advanced age. He was born in Parker township, August 14, 1832, and was 
  prominently known in the northeastern section of the county.
  
  Mr. Fleming enlisted in Company G, Fiftieth Pennsylvania Volunteers, in the 
  Civil war, and was present at the surrender of General Lee at Appomattox. 
  After the war he returned to Butler county and located at Bruin. He was a 
  charter member of the First Presbyterian church of Bruin and for forty years 
  was a member of the session of the church. He was married to Miss Mary Reep, 
  whose death occurred April 13, 1916. Surviving are the following sons and 
  daughters: H.C. Fleming of Butler, R.D., Rev. W.F. Fleming of  Ligonier, Pa., 
  Mrs. Fannie Calkins, wife of Rev. F. C. Calkins of Union City, Ind., Mrs. 
  Catherine Wallace of Bruin, and Miss Elizabeth Fleming of Bruin.
  
  The funeral will be held Monday, February 20, at 1 p.m. from the residence in 
  Bruin with Rev. J.C. McElroy in charge of the services. Interment will be in 
  the Bear Creek cemetery.
