Court estate file S-8 In the name of God Aman. I Adam Shanor being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding, (blessed be God for the same) but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following Viz: Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul to the hands of God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, and first I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and (unreadable) as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. I give and bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth as dictated by the law of this state and it is my will and pleasure that all my (real) and personal property be equally divided among my dear children according to law Viz. Jacob and Catharine, Daniel Susanna, John, William and Polly. And further it is my will and pleasure that my real property shall be sold as soon as the youngest comes to age, if not sooner agreed upon by themselves and their guardians. And lastly I nominate (unreadable) and appoint my dear brother Henry Shanor and also my trusty friend Benjamin Wallace to be the Executors of this my will and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord 1813 in the presents of James Allison (signature) Samuel Scott (signature) Adam Shanor mark Note: Several pages of receipts from the Register of Probate followed by accounting slips and inventories follow.
