It is part of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church with the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. The church is still known by the older members of the parish as Saint Brigid's, the name it held before combining with Our Lady of Mount Carmel, also located in Lilly, on June 29, 1995. The cemetery is situated between George and Cemetery Streets, a few short blocks off of Route 53. Once you're in Lilly, just ask anyone to point the way, we're a friendly bunch. These tombstone transcriptions are a combined effort of several of my family members. Some of the inscriptions were very hard to read, even with a rubbing, but those we did get are exactly as they appear on the stone. (One minor difference is the capitalization of surnames to make it easier scanning.) We hope someone will find one of their ancestors for whom they have been searching.
