Williams from the handwritten text] 108 Petition of ) To the Honorable the Judges of the court of Common Isaac Parkes ) Pleas of County of Cambria. for ) The Petitioner Isaac Parkes Respectfully Represents that Naturalization ) he is a native of England and was heretofore a subject to the King of Great Britain, That he emigrated to the U.S. in the Year A.D. and arrived in._____ [sic] That he now resides in Cambria County, That he is desireous [sic] to become a citizen of the U.S. and enjoy the privileges and protection of the same. That Your Petitioner offers to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince Potentate State and Sovereignty whatever and particularly to the King of Great Britain to whom he was heretofore a subject. That Your Petitioner now offers in open court by Daniel Huber, That he has resided within the United States for five Years last past and for three Years last past it has been bonafide his intention to become a citizen of the U.S. that Your Petitioner is a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the same, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Your Petitioner therefore prays that he may be admited to be come a citizen of the United States Under the act of congress of the United States passed the 26th day of May 1824 on making the proof before mentioned, And taking the oath prescribed in such case made & provided And Your Petitioner as in duty bound will pray.
