Friday, 14 Sep 1906 Volume 40, Number 36 Items Local and Personal Landlord M. J. Stoltz will close Fenwycke Hall Sept. 15th, his lease on the premises expiring Jan. 1st, 1907. Mr. Stoltz intends to dispose of the furnishings, household goods, etc. at private sale, commencing next Monday morning, Sept. 17th. Capt. John Downey of Johnstown was an Ebensburg visitor Tuesday. The Captain's health has not been of the best recently and he will shortly leave for the National Military Home at Dayton, Ohio. Edward Kline of Hastings was in Ebensburg Monday stopping off on his way to Buelah where he is engaged with Ashley Lord in the construction of the county bridge at that place. Cashier Robert Scanlan of the American National Bank, Attorney P. J. Little and Judge O'Connor will leave October 12th for several weeks hunting in the Maine woods. Albert Nagle of Clearfield township was in the county capital Wednesday. Alex Strittmatter of Bradley Junction, candidate for Assembly was in town Tuesday. F. H. Barker of Ebensburg was in Johnstown Monday with his son, Dr. Olin G. A. Barker of the Lincoln Building. Owen J. Jones, Democratic candidate for Poor House Director was in Ebensburg Wednesday. Hon. M. Fitzharris and Landlord J. V. Leonard of Gallitzin were Ebensburg visitors this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Jones who have been visiting relatives in McClure, Snyder County, Pa., returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Zahm of Vintondale left Thursday morning for Atlantic City where they will spend a week or ten days. Engineer Hamilton has moved his office from Ebensburg to Big Bend and will hereafter make his headquarters at that place. Attorney T. H. Hasson and wife of Pittsburg have been spending the past week with Mr. Hasson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Hasson of Julian street. Patrick Moran of Loretto was in the County Capital on business on Wednesday and while here paid THE FREEMAN office a pleasant visit. Call again, Patrick. Belsano Man Suffers Stroke of Paralysis While Taking Cows to Pasture William C. Clawson, a veteran of the Civil War, suffered a stroke of paralysis Friday morning while driving his cows to pasture. Mr. Clawson, who is quite an aged man, fell to the roadside and was carried to his house by friends who found him there. He is still unconscious and his relatives have little hope for his recovery. A Regimental Reunion Survivors of One Hundred and Thirty-Third to Meet at Gettysburg The officers of the Regimental Association of the survivors of the One Hundred and Thirty-third Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers have decided to hold a survivors' reunion on the Gettysburg battlefield on Oct. 3d at the same time as a reunion will be held there by the survivors of the Fifty-Fourth Regiment. M. D. Barndollar of Everett is President and A. W. Knepper of Somerset, Secretary of the 133rd Regimental Association and they are pushing the arrangements for the coming reunion. Company F: John M. Jones was recruited in Ebensburg. Company A: John Downey was recruited in Johnstown. Company B: Chas. Butland was recruited in Johnstown. Company E: George F. Baer (now President, Reading RR) was recruited in Somerset. MARRIAGES The Eckenrode-Glass Wedding Contrary to a statement made in Thursday's Johnstown TRIBUNE Miss Jennie Eckenrode of Loretto and Leonard C. Glass of this city were not married on Saturday evening at the office of Alderman John C. Rutledge by that magistrate but will be united in the holy bonds of matrimony next Tuesday morning. The ceremony will be performed at nuptial mass at the Catholic Church at Loretto by Rev. Father Kittell, rector of that parish. Mr. Glass and Miss Eckenrode were at the office of Alderman Rutledge on Saturday and made application for a marriage license.
