Alfred Isenberg, Gomer Sipes and Arthur (Dutch) Cresswell were in Patton Monday night taking in the basketball game and the skating rink. Ask Alfred about the skating rink! The many friends of Mrs. Emma McNamara will be pleased to learn that she is successfully conducting a large fashionable boarding establishment on 52nd Street, Philadelphia. H. E. Englehart and wife and daughter, Leeanna, went to Altoona Sunday to be present at the christening of their granddaughter, Leeanna Catharine Laubaucher. Mrs. William T. Dawson and daughter, Miss Edith of Johnstown, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome F. McCleary of the East ward over Sunday. Phil Bender and Jerald Cresswell came home last evening from St. Francis college of Loretto to spend a couple of days with their parents. Byron W. Davis and Allen Pryce of Ebensburg were in Johnstown Thursday. They were registered at the Grand Central Hotel. Mrs. D. R. Powell of the East ward accompanied by her little daughter is visiting relatives in Pittsburg and vicinity this week. Dr. Walter O'Harra of Pitcairn spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. J. A. O'Harra in the Centre ward. Misses Vera Williams, Mabel Jones, Mildred Owens and Miss Bell were in Patton Monday morning. James McClain, Cashier of the First National Bank of Spangler, was in town on business Saturday. Clifford Philips Jr. of Pittsburg was here as a guest of the Mountain House in this place Friday. John Reed, Superintendent of the mines at Bakerton, was an Ebensburg visitor Monday. F. C. George of Lilly was in Ebensburg Monday. John C. Gates arrived home from Harrisburg to spend Sunday. B. W. Litzinger of Loretto spent Sunday in town among friends. J. O. McMullen of Patton was in the county seat on Wednesday. Harry Heitchue of Johnstown was in town Wednesday visiting his friends. Col. J. L. Spangler of Bellefonte was in town Saturday transacting business. Wm. H. Moudy of Portage was in the county seat Wednesday on business. Ray C. Jones and family were visiting in Johnstown and Wilmore over Sunday. C. M. Smathers, formerly of this place, now of Big Bend, was in town Friday. Mrs. J. W. Scott and son of Blandburg were in town on business Wednesday. William Luther of Carrolltown is now employed at the Mountain House in this place. Prominent Lilly Merchant Injured E. J. Hughes, a prominent merchant of Lilly, while riding in a sleigh near his home town Saturday was thrown out by the horses becoming fractious. In falling from the sleigh Mr. Hughes struck a telegraph pole and was rendered unconscious. His injuries are considered serious. Accident on R. R. at Gallitzin While Charles W. Burkholder, a conductor on the Pittsburg Division, who resides in Pittsburg, was trying to tighten the brakes on a freight car which was a part of his train at Gallitzin Saturday night, his foot slipped and he was thrown to the tracks at the side of his train. In falling his left arm was caught under him and he sustained a fracture of that member. He went to the Altoona Hospital for treatment. New Postmaster Takes Charge J. G. (Bob) Lloyd took charge of the Ebensburg Post office Monday morning with William H. Davis and Miss Edna Evans, two clerks who served under Fes Lloyd, retained. The former Postmaster, Festus Lloyd, had held that office for the past eight years, 8 months and seventeen days and proved satisfactory to the many patrons of the office.
