The Sick of the Town 

Several of the older citizens of the town are now on the sick list, the oldest of whom is Mrs. 
Catharine Dougherty of the West ward whose age is 83 [faded; may be 93] years.  Mrs. 
Dougherty has been troubled for several years with rheumatism and spinal trouble has recently 
developed.

Mr. Griffith Jones of the West Ward continues ill of stomach and bowel trouble.

J. D. Shenfelt of Julian street, a Civil war veteran, is suffering from the effects of a wound 
received while in the service of the country.  He was shot through the neck below the ears and 
the wound is now giving him much trouble.

Mr. Isaac Evans has completed his new steam Tannery in the west ward of Ebensburg. It is a 
large one and quite an addition to our manufacturing establishments.

Samuel Reed of [faded], Cambria County to Miss Ella Simpson of Mahoning, Indiana County.
