Some Maple Syrup Abe Pringle Makes 80 Gallons on Farm of Frank White Near Wilmore Frank White, who about a year and a half ago purchased a fine farm on Pringle Hill, was in Ebensburg yesterday and paid THE FREEMAN sanctum a pleasant visit and informs us that A. W. Pringle, of Wilmore, has since the beginning of this season made 80 gallons of maple syrup in the large sugar grove on his farm. Jack London Still Cruising San Francisco, April 9 Jack London and Mrs. London have resumed their world's cruise on the yacht, Snark. When the steamer Mariposa left Papeele, Tahiti on March 25, the Snark followed her out of the harbor and set out for the Island of Morea in the Puomotu group. Doings of 50 Years Ago! - extracts Mountaineer, April 8, 1858 Appointed – Alexander Kilgore, Esq., has been appointed Collector of Tolls at Johnstown. In his selection the company has secured the services of a competent, experienced and accommodating officer, a clever gentleman and a sound Democrat. It will be seen that our enterprising friend, Mr. Robert Davis, has just received a large increase in his well selected stock of groceries & as every one will examine his stock for himself, it is unnecessary for us to recommend them. Left - Our lively friend, Reese John Lloyd, Esq. has bid farewell to his friends in Ebensburg and removed to his farm, two miles north east of town. All miss his smiling face and lively laugh. We hope he may soon tire of his labors on the farm and return to spend the balance of his days in the society of which he is a favorite member. Returned – Mr. Frederick Kittell after a couple of years' absence has returned to our village. He intends opening a grocery store a few doors west of Blair's Hotel. Mr. Blaine, our accomplished and polite barber, has removed his shop to the office formerly occupied by Messrs. Reed & Heyer.
