Infantry in St. Bernard's Catholic cemetery, Indiana, was dedicated with appropriate ceremonies in the presence of many of the relatives of the deceased and veterans of the regiment. The Fifty-Fifth was organized in Harrisburg and was mustered into service October 5, 1861. Company A was recruited in Cambria county, principally at Hemlock, now Lilly, where Richard White long resided and where he had extensive mercantile interests. The regiment had a thrilling experience in the war, 208 men having been killed and 271 died of accidents and disease and in rebel prisons. In the last eleven months of the war, the Fifty-fifth lost 750 men, killed and wounded. Arrested on a Charge of Arson Nike Farkas, a Foreigner, of Vintondale in the Foils of the Law County Detective Berkebile yesterday morning arrested Mike Farkas of Vintondale, charged with having burned his store and dwelling house in that place on April 20th last and having received thereon an insurance of $2800. The County Detective had been working on this case for some time and having secured what he believed to be ample evidence made information against the accused and had a warrant issued which he inclosed (sic) in a letter addressed to a local constable and went to the district attorney where Farkas, accompanied a woman who wished to bring an action for slander against some other person, whereupon he returned to the post office, withdrew the warrant and came back with it, made the arrest and placed the accused in jail, the latter declaring surprise at this ending of his visit to the county seat. Developments in the Rosenbloom Tragedy Mrs. Bunnie Rosenbloom and Her Daughter, Eva, Arrested in Baltimore Released on Bail Since our last issue Mrs. Bunnie Rosenbloom, wife of the murdered Windber merchant and her seventeen-year-old daughter, Eva, have been arrested in Baltimore after admitting, it is claimed, that Alex Rosenbloom murdered his father, have been released on bail in the sum of $2000. Two nephews of Rosenbloom - Elger by name - have been arrested, charged with being accomplices of Alex Rosenbloom in having assisted him to dispose of the remains. It is now claimed that the body found in a New Jersey swamp is not that of Rosenbloom as the latter had a crooked leg which the corpse has not, nevertheless, it is said to have been admitted by Mrs. Rosenbloom that her husband's body was packed in a trunk and some think that it is hidden near Windber. The county commissioners of Somerset County have declined to offer a reward for the arrest of Alex Rosenbloom. The insinuation is made that this failure to offer a reward was occasioned by the reluctance of the county commissioners to have the county put to the expense of trying the alleged fratricide if caught.
