J. Bennett has returned home from a two days' visit in Pittsburg. His father, Evan J. Bennett, accompanied him to the Smoky City and is now visiting in Johnstown and Portage. Miss Grace Denny of Johnstown is spending several days in Ebensburg, superintending the preparation of Belmont for the occupancy of the Denny family. Mrs. C. W. Port of this place will leave tomorrow for a two weeks' visit with parents and other relatives at her former home in Fort Wayne, Ind. Miss Margaret Griffith of High Street who had been at Bryn Mawr College during the winter months is home for the summer. Among the visitors in Ebensburg Memorial Day was V. S. Lutringer, Johnstown, a former resident of the county seat. Miss Mary McKenrick and Miss Bess Taggart of Altoona were guests of the McKenrick family early this week. Mrs. James, wife of the Hon. Edmund James, is spending a few days with the Stineman family in South Fork. Mr. and Mrs. B. Frank James spent Saturday in Altoona where they attended the Barnum & Bailey circus. Miss Maude Shoemaker of Pittsburg is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Shoemaker of this place. George W. Evans of Pittsburg was in Ebensburg Wednesday attending the funeral of his father. Mrs. Robert Scanlon and son of this place spent several days in Johnstown this week. James McClune of this place spent Memorial Day in Johnstown with relatives. Winfield Evans of Johnstown spent Sunday with his mother in this place. Both Are in Hospital Father Ferdinand Kittell and His Brother, Monsignor Kittell The Rt. Rev. Monsignor William Kittell, Chancellor of the Pittsburg Diocese, who was in Rome for his health, is at the Mercy Hospital suffering from nervous troubles. His brother, the Rev. Father Ferdinand Kittell of Loretto, Pa., is also a patient at the hospital suffering from catarrh of the stomach. (Pittsburg POST) Young Man Recovering P. A. Strittmatter has returned from Philadelphia, where he was summoned on account of the serious condition of his son, Dennis, who had underwent an operation for appendicitis at one of the hospitals. We are glad to state that the young man is improving rapidly and his chances for complete recovery are excellent. (Hastings NEWS) Invalid has Outing Mr. and Mrs. Job Mills and Mrs. Jane Lewis of the East Ward enjoyed an hour's outing in an automobile Monday. It was the first time in four years that Mrs. Mills, who is an invalid, had left her home and the first in eight years that she had been up town. Peach Buys a Hearse Deputy Sheriff Ed Knee Wednesday sold at sheriff's sale a half interest in a hearse, the half interest being that of O. H. Osman, formerly an undertaker in Ebensburg. The vehicle was sold to Tom Peach of Ebensburg for $130. Banns Published at Cresson Cresson, June 1 The first publication of the banns of marriage between Miss Mary Ivory and Edwin C. Parrish were made Sunday in St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Miss Ivory is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luke Ivory and has been employed as a telephone operator in the C. & C. offices here. Mr. Parrish is a son of Thomas Parrish and is employed in Pittsburg, though his father resides here. Wedding Coming Henry Bloom and Miss Mary Thomas, two popular young people of Carrolltown, will be united in marriage at St. Benedict's Catholic Church that place, on June 15th at 9 a. m. Nant-y-Glo Man's Father Dies Lewis A. Bigelow of McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, died recently. He was aged about 68 years. By occupation the deceased was a blacksmith. A surviving son is Frank of Nant-y-Glo.
