M. (Sana) McGhee slm2@psu.edu April 4, 2005, 8:02 pm Altoona Mirror September 28, 1895 At 11:50 this morning a coal train was wrecked at the west end of coal siding near Twenty-fourth street. Twenty-eight cars were piled up and completely blocked both east and west bound tracks. Second main line express, which was running forty minutes late, is still at Twenty-fourth street. Way passenger was held thirty minutes. The Altoona and Gallitzin wrecking crews are clearing up the tracks. No one was injured.
