(Ebensburg, Pa.) August 13, 1868 A man named Patrick English, residing in Prospect borough, was run over and instantly killed while attempting to cross the Cambria Iron Co.'s railroad track, on the west end of the bridge connecting Millville and Cambria boroughs. The cars were only a few yards off when he stepped on the track. His head was severed from his body and his person was otherwise terribly mangled. As the alarm whistle had been sounded, no blame could be attached to the engineer of the train. The deceased was a native of Ireland, 26 years old, and is said to have been partially deaf. He was a single man, but rumor has it that he was shortly to have been married. Additional Comments: (Source: The Cambria freeman.
