Rev. Brother Athanasius

Rev. Brother Athanasius of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, and a former 
Altoonan, died at St. Francis college, Loretto, last Saturday morning of a complication of 
diseases after a long illness.  He was aged 72 years.  Brother Athanasius, who had spent 
the greater part of his life in the order, taught in St. John's parochial schools, Altoona, 
when the Franciscans were in charge of the instruction of the boys there. He taught in 
St. Francis' college for a number of years but had not been able to teach this year on 
account of ill health.  Mass was celebrated for the repose of his soul in the college 
chapel at Loretto Monday morning and the remains were buried in the college grounds.
