(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: August 05, 1869 At his residence in this place, at 11-1/2 o'clock, a. m., on Sunday last, 1st inst., Dr. Robert S. Bunn, aged 44 years, 4 months and 15 days. The subject of this notice was a prominent citizen of Ebensburg. He was born in Honeybrook township, Chester county, on the 17th of March, 1825. After having graduated at the Medical University of Pennsylvania, he commenced the practice of his profession at Morgantown, Berks county, but afterwards removed to Carlinville, Macoupin county, Ill., where he became a most successful practitioner... Dr. Bunn returned to Pennsylvania from Illinois and located in this borough in the year 1858... In his profession he was acknowledged to be one of the foremost men in Western Pennsylvania... Four young gentlemen of this county read medicine in the office of Dr. Bunn, two of whom are now successful practicing physicians in this neighborhood: Dr. Deveraux, at Summitville, and Dr. Oatman, at Carrolltown. Of the remaining two, one, Dr. Brallier resides at Cherry Tree, Indiana county, and the other,Dr. Davis, in Burnside, Clearfield county. They were all here, and with Drs. Lemmon and Evans, of this place, attended the funeral of their former preceptor and friend.
