The Cambria freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: October 14, 1869
On Wednesday, October 4th, George Burgoon, Esq., aged about 65 years. Mr. Burgoon
was elected a Justice of the Peace for Washington township in the spring of 1860,
and at the October election in the same year he was chosen one of the Commissioners
of this county. He discharged the duties of both offices with strict integrity and
with acknowledged fidelity to the interests of the people. He was a man of more than
ordinary intelligence, and was highly esteemed by all who enjoyed his acquaintance.
