Friday, 2 Dec 1910 Volume 44, Number 47 Mrs. Elizabeth Bearer Mrs. Elizabeth Bearer, widow of John Bearer, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Volk, near Hastings, aged 82 years. Death was due to general debility. Mrs. Bearer was a daughter of Christopher Luther who died about 30 years ago at Carrolltown at the age of 104 years. Mr. Luther's father fought in the Revolution. Mrs. Bearer was the mother of 16 children, eight of whom are living as follows: Louis J. and John A., who own farms near Hastings; M. D., cashier of the Grange National Bank at Patton; Annie, wife of Henry Volk, referred to above, George of Pittsburg; Frank and Mrs. Cecelia Kuntz of Barnesboro and Mrs. Clara Blair of Lorain, O. John Bearer, husband of the deceased, died five years ago. He was for many years a prominent school teacher of Cambria County. Mr. Bearer in addition was a justice of the peace for some time and also served the county as commissioner. The funeral took place at Carrolltown Wednesday morning.
