Friday, 9 Dec 1904 Volume XXXVIII, Number 48 John Boxler John Boxler of Summerhill, died Saturday evening at the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, from shock following an operation for a complaint from which he had been suffering many years. A short time ago the physicians in attendance on him discovered signs of a cancerous growth and decided to operate. He was removed to the hospital and the operation performed Friday night. He rallied slightly after the surgeons ended their work but later took a turn for the worse and sank rapidly until death came. The deceased was born in Johnstown and was forty-five years old. He was married to Miss Annie Boyer of Summerhill many years ago and she, with six children, survive. One brother and two sisters also survive. The funeral took place Monday morning from St. Joseph's German Catholic church, Johnstown, of which the deceased was a member and the remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery at Geistown.
