Friday, 9 Dec 1910 Volume 44, Number 48 Capt. Brolley Dead Capt. John Brolley, a veteran of the Civil War and one of the oldest men in the north of Cambria County, died Tuesday morning at the home of his niece, Mrs. Allen Roberts in Lilly, at the advanced age of 82 years. The diseases incident to his years were the cause of death. Mr. Brolley was captain of a Philadelphia company during the Civil War, serving over four years in the rebellion and for a number of years as captain of the Philadelphia Guards. On his return from the war he held a number of minor political offices in Philadelphia. He had been making his home the last few years with his niece in Lilly. Capt. Brolly (sic) leaves no family. After requiem high mass by Father Ryan in St. Bridget's Catholic Church at Lilly Thursday morning, interment took place in the cemetery connected with the church.
