(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: February 20, 1868 Death of L. S. Cantwell, Esq. - This brave soldier and true gentleman died at Kittanning, Pa., on Sunday, the 9th inst., and his remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at Blairsville on the Tuesday following. Mr. Cantwell was a lawyer by profession, and commanded by his ability and processional acumen a most lucrative practice. At the commencement of the rebellion, however, he deserted the Bar and raised a company, of which he was elected Captain, and joined the 8th Pa. Reserves, serving with the most distinguished bravery throughout the greater part of the war, and only returning to civil life when impaired health rendered him unfit for service as a soldier. After retiring from the army he again resumed the practice of his profession in his former home...
