Friday, 4 Nov 1910 Volume 44, Number 43 Mrs. Mary Ann Calihan Mrs. Mary Ann Calihan, aged 61 years, member of a prominent family of Braddock, and who had numerous friends and relatives in this county, died Tuesday afternoon after an illness of almost two years. Mrs. Calihan was born in St. Pinnock, Cornwall, England, March 17, 1849, a daughter of Josiah Symons, a coal operator of Cornwall. Her parents moved to Vermont, near Rutland, when she was but two years old. Two year later they settled in Johnstown, where her father for many years was connected with the old Cambria Iron Company. Mrs. Calihan was married in 1868. In 1875 when Capt. William R. Jones left the Cambria Iron Company and with Andrew Carnegie built the Edgar Thomson Steel Works, Mr. Calihan and his family settled in Braddock, the former taking a prominent official position when the Edgar Thomson plant was put in operation. The funeral was held at Braddock Thursday morning.
