KILLED IN THE MINES

Coroner E. L. Miller on Friday morning went to Ehrenfeld and 
investigated the death of Tony Chipiano, the Italian who was killed in 
the Pennsylvania Coal & Company's mines on Thursday.  Chipiano's death 
was caused by a fall of coal.  Coroner Miller's investigation developed 
that neither Chipiano nor his companion, who is an experienced miner, 
had spragged before mining, causing the fall.  Under the circumstance, 
the coroner decided an inquest unnecessary.  Chipiano was aged thirty-
three years, and leaves a wife and family in Italy.
