Born Jan. 1, 1896, in Bakerton, son of Jacob and Barbara (Moser) Chirdon. Survived by widow, former Marie Hufford, and these children: George, with the Armed Forces in Germany; Donald, Baltimore; Lee, wife of Henry Malloy Jr., Mylo Park; Clarence Jr., Canonsburg, and Lloyd, Cleveland, Ohio; also 10 grandchildren; one brother, Martin, New Jersey, and sister, Cecilia, Johnstown. Veteran of World War I. Memer of Ebensburg American Legion Post and Local 850, UMWA, Revloc. Friends received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at David A. Matevish Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Very Rev. Msgr. Francis B. McCaa. Interment, Holy Name Cemetery. Military graveside rites by Ebensburg Legion Post.
