All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Johnstown Tribune 28 Sep 1921 Matilda Allison Colbert MISS COLBERT, 86, HAS PASSED AWAY Deceased Born in Virginia, Had Lived in This Vicinity for Over 70 Years Miss Matilda Allison Colbert, aged 86 years, is dead, having expired this morning at her home, 523 Bedford street, Fourth Ward, following a long illness of complication of diseases. The body was this afternoon removed by the John Henderson Company in the G.A. Gonder home, 587 Bedford street, where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. Leroy M. Humes, pastor of the Cooper- avenue M.E. Church, with burial in Benshoff's Cemetery. The deceased was a daughter of Robert and Rebecca (Witherow) Colbert and was born in the State of Virginia in 1835. Her parents came north over 70 years ago and located at Cambria Furnace below Coopersdale. Miss Colbert was a sister of Mrs. Ellen Vann, of Haynes street, and Mrs. Helen Wonderly and Otha Colbert, of 523 Bedford street. She was one of the oldest members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Coopersdale.
