Colbert Johnstown Tribune 3 Dec 1924 S.J. COLBERT DIED IN MORRELLVILLE Well-Known Resident Suddenly Expired at an Early Hour This Morning Sylvester J. Colbert, aged 41 years, died suddenly of heart trouble at his home, 472 Edith avenue, Oakhurst, at 2 o'clock this morning. Mr. Colbert was a foreman at the Franklin coke plant and was at work as usual yesterday. He became suddenly ill about 2 o'clock this morning, when Mrs. Colbert was awakened by his loud breathing. He expired before a physician could be summoned. The deceased was a brother of Newton Colbert, of Lorain, O., and the funeral arrangements will not be completed until after his arrival tonight or tomorrow morning. The deceased was a son of J. Wesley and Martha (Hagins) Colbert and was born in Westmoreland County. He and Miss Minnie Jordan were married in Pittsburg some years ago and have since resided in this city. Mrs. Colbert survives her husband with four children -- James, John, Richard, and Marguerite, at home; his parents and a brother, Fire Captain George Colbert, all residing at 126 Fairfield avenue; Mrs. Robert Ling, of Clymer, Indiana County, and Newton Colbert, referred to above. The deceased was a member of Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church and was also identified with the Wesley Bible Class connected with the Sunday School.
