All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ William Jaret Colbert Johnstown Tribune Sep 1928 William Jaret Colbert, aged 76 years, died Saturday evening [26 September 1928-ed.] at the Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since September 12, when he was removed from his home, 524 Sherman street, Fifth Ward. Mr. Colbert was foreman of the drill presses in the car shop of the Cambria mills and was injured while at work in February. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at the late residence, in charge of the Rev. Dr. Samuel McWilliams, pastor of the Franklin-street M.E. Church, and the Rev. Charles H. Ashman, of the First Brethren Church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. W.J. Colbert was born in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, October 19, 1849, and was one of a family of 11 sons and daughters. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma May (Betts) Colbert, and a daughter, Myrtle, wife of Ernest G. Husberg, of Chicago. A son, Franklin Colbert, died in infancy. Mr. Colbert is survived by a grandchild, Grace Isabelle Husbert [sic: earlier the name was written "Husberg"], and three sisters and three brothers - Mrs. Bella Wonders, Mrs. Ida Miller, Lula Colbert, and John, Harry, and Charles Colbert. The deceased was for many years an employee in the local steel plant. He was an active member for many years of the Methodist Church.
