Friday, 7 Jun 1907 Volume 41, Number 23 Killed Near Cresson Run down by an engine and cut in two parts was the shocking fate of W. Frank Conrad of Gallitzin, about 8 o'clock Tuesday morning just west of Mo tower which is located a short distance from Cresson. Conrad, who was about twenty-eight years of age, had been employed with a signal gang under J. L. Wissinger and was following his duties in the morning when death overtook him. A glass in a dwarf No. 5 signal which is located between tracks Nos. 4 and 5 was broken and Conrad was sent to replace it. On account of the noise made by a train going west on No. 4 track, Conrad evidently did not hear a C. & C. yard shifter approaching on No. 5 track and he was run over. W. Frank Conrad was a son of the late Robert Conrad. His mother and a sister, Mary, reside at Gallitzin and a brother, George, is located in Altoona. The remains were taken to Gallitzin for burial.
