Wednesday, 11 Feb 1891 Died Very Suddenly. From the Johnstown Tribune of February 10: Mr. John Cummings, of South Fork, a sturdy Scotchman, aged about 54 years, died very suddenly this morning while on his way to work. Mr. Cumminbs was a miner and worked at the Argyle mines. He was supposed to be in the enjoyment of perfect health. He started to his daily labors in a cheerful frame of mind in company with a fellow workman, Thomas Broad. When almost at the scene of his labors he complained of a sudden weakness and sat down, when he at once fell over and expired. John G. Broad and John A. Miller came up at the time, and they carried him back to his home, which he had left but a few minutes before in such apparent good health. Dr. J. C. Luke was called in and, after examination, pronounced him beyond human help. Mr. Cummings was a member of South Ford division, Uniform Rank, Knights of Pythias; also, of the Knights of the Mystic Chain, and of the Foresters. Notice of the funeral will be given later. It is probable that some of the several orders will attend the funeral.
