Wednesday, August 6, 1862 KILLED ON THE RAILROAD A man named James Cunningham, residing at Hemlock, Cambria county, was killed on the railroad, on Saturday night last, between Gallitzin and Cresson. He is supposed to have been killed by the fast line Eastward. His remains were not discovered until Sunday morning, when they were found literally cut to pieces, all the trains during the night having passed over him. He had been in Altoona on Saturday and enlisted in Capt. Zink's company, and is supposed to have got off the mail train at Gallitzin and started to walk home, and being very much intoxicated, doubtless fell upon the track and was killed as described. We did not learn whether he was a single man or a man of family. Possibly: 1860 Washington, Cambria, Pennsylvania James Cunningham 25 Mary A Cunningham 22 John Cunningham 2 Teresa Cunningham 7.12
