(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: May 14, 1868 At his residence in Munster township, on Saturday, the 9th inst., Neal Dever, aged 84 years. The subject of the above notice was born in the County Donegal, Ireland, from whence he emigrated about the year 1818. He arrived in Cambria county when it was little better than the habitation of wild beasts. Soon after, as a contractor, he was one of the men who pushed the Huntingdon and Pittsburgh turnpike to its completion. He soon after settled in the woods, near what is now Munster, where, by his untiring industry, he made for himself and family a happy home, where he spent the remainder of his days, loved and esteemed by all with whom he associated. To those who weep over his vacant seat he leaves the gratifying assurance that he lived and died an exemplary Christian. His remains were followed, on the 11th inst., to their final resting place by a large concourse of mourners. Peace to his ashes.
