Thursday, 16 Apr 1863 Volume 4, Number 29 Drowned A Welshman, named David Davis of Danville, Montour County, this State, while returning from the Rolling Mill on Saturday night, 4th inst., walked into the canal above the lock and was drowned. His body was recovered from the lock the next day. Davis was a stranger in town and it is supposed he walked into the canal through ignorance of the way he was traveling. His remains were sent back to Danville where he leaves a large family. So we learn from the Johnstown TRIBUNE.
