Friday, 27 Jan 1905 Volume 39, Number 3 Sudden Death of Mrs. Jane Davis Died on Friday, January 20, 1905, at 4 o'clock p. m. from heart failure, Mrs. Jane Davis of Cambria township who was aged 71 years in October last. Mrs. Davis' death was a very sudden one, happening just inside the door of Barker's store in Ebensburg where she fell over and life departed instantly. A physician was summoned at once but she was past human aid from the first. She had driven to town with her son, Frank Devereaux, as was often her custom on nice days to make some purchases and the remains were at once removed by him to his home. Mrs. Davis was for many years a member of the First Congregational church of Ebensburg and also was connected with the Ebensburg W. C. T. C. She was the last of her immediate family, although leaving besides her son and daughter, a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral, which was one of the largest ever occurring in this community, was held Monday from the home of her son, where services were conducted by Rev. J. Twyson Jones. Interment was made in Lloyd's Cemetery.
