Friday, 17 Mar 1905 Volume 39, Number 10 A Former Ebensburger Dies in Iowa Mr. R. R. Davis, the insurance agent of the East ward, received a telegram Wednesday announcing the death of his brother, Mr. Thomas R. Davis of Iowa City, Iowa, at the advanced age of 80 years. The deceased was raised on a farm owned by Jonathan Jones of Cambria township and lived there until the Civil War broke out when he enlisted and performed good service to his country through that conflict. He was one of those who were unfortunate enough to be captured and confined in Andersonville prison. Mrs. Thomas L. Jones, of Cambria township, is a sister of the deceased and Messrs. John D. and N. I. Roberts and Mrs. R. E. Smith, all of Johnstown are cousins. The FREEMAN was unable to secure further particulars.
