DUNCAN DEAD, VINTONDALE Checkweighman Expires After 10-Year Illness; Funeral Saturday VINTONDALE, Oct. 22–George W. Duncan, aged 61, a checkweighman employed at the Vinton Collieries here, died last evening at his home after an illness of 10 years of a complication of diseases. Mr. Duncan was a son of Thomas Duncan, deceased, and Mary Jane (George) Duncan of near Strongstown and was born in Buffington Township, Indiana County, on January 23, 1875. He was twice married, his first wife being Pearl Graham, who died in 1901. To this union one son was born, Russell Duncan, who died in Strongstown on January 2, 1932. Mr. Duncan is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella (Stiles) Duncan, and the following children, born to the second union: Charles, inter-married with Hilda Grenning of 346 Ohio Street, Johnstown; Ella Rhea, wife of Carl Carney of Seward, and Jane, wife of Francis Thomas of 365 Ohio Street, Johnstown. He also leaves five grandchildren. Mr. Duncan was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge at Ebensburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Duncan home by the Rev. Large. Interment will be in the Strongstown Cemetery.
