Tuesday, October 28, 1890 Found Dead in His Shop. David Evans, father of Alvin Evans, esq., of Ebensburg, the well known lawyer, was found dead about 10.30 Sunday night. He was not at home for supper, but this did not excite much uneasiness, as it was supposed he had gone to the home of a relative. At bedtime, however, when he did not return, a search was made for him and he was found lying on the floor of his tailor shop, dead. His body was cold, and life had evidently been extinct for several hours. Deceased was about 77 years of age. His wife died a good many years ago and he had been making his home with his son Alvin. He was an old time resident of Ebensburg and had carried on the tailoring business for years. Besides Alvin, the lawyer, Mr. Evans leaves another son, Edgar, and a daughter. The cause of Mr. Evans' death is thought to have been apoplexy.
