Friday, 18 Jan 1907 Volume 41, Number 3 Miss Edith Bernice Evans Word was received here Tuesday morning of the death of Miss Edith Bernice Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Evans, who reside at Vetera, about seven miles north of this place. The girl was fourteen years of age. Miss Evans was taken ill several days after Christmas and for a time suffered with diphtheria. This ailment had almost disappeared and she was convalescent when croup suddenly ensued and caused her death. Besides her parents, the girl is survived by the following brothers and sisters: W. Boyd and Malcolm, both students at Juniata College; Everett, at home; Mrs. Thomas H. Jose of Westmont; Mrs. Edgar Geis of Altoona; Jessie of Johnstown and Martha and Grace, at home. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with private interment in the Hermon church cemetery. The obsequies were in charge of the Rev. Jenkins, pastor of the North Congregational church.
