Friday, 29 Mar 1912 Volume 45, Number 13 Last of Pioneer Family Miss Ann Farren's death at the home of her nephews and nieces in Ebensburg removes the last member of a pioneer family which came from Ireland 81 years ago and located on a farm in Cambria township. The parents died about the time of the Civil War and Miss Mary, Patrick and John followed them to the grave. Miss Ann, although 84 years old, retained her interest in life until very recently. Last fall she moved into Ebensburg with the children of her dead brother, Patrick, and made her home with them. Years ago she and a brother, John, kept a candy store on High street, Ebensburg, which was a favorite stopping place for the children on their way home from school, but after John Farren died, his sister moved back to the farm. The funeral was held Tuesday morning from the Church of the Holy Name, Ebensburg.
