Friday, 31 Aug 1906 Volume 40, Number 34 Jesse D. Fox Jesse D. Fox died at his home in Chest Springs at 4:30 o'clock Sunday morning as a result of an overdose of morphine, administered innocently by his wife. Mr. Fox retired Sunday evening in good health and sprits. Some time during the night however he became very ill and asked his wife to administer some morphine with a hypodermic syringe which he kept in the house. Mrs. Fox administered the morphine, but it soon became apparent to her that something unusual had happened to her husband. Dr. Somerville was summoned but medical attention came too late to save the man's life. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter. The body was shipped to Dubois on the 2:40 train Monday afternoon from which place the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
