Died in an Asylum 

  Andrew W. Glasser who was formerly well known in the north of this county as well as 
in Johnstown, died at the Dixmont Hospital for the Insane on Monday night in the forty-
fifth year of his age.  He had been an inmate of the institution since December 30, 
1905.

  Mr. Glasser came to Johnstown about twenty years ago, being employed first as 
bartender at the Keystone Hotel and later as a clerk in the clothing establishment of 
Woolf & Reynolds. In 1900 he was run over by a train on the B. & O. railroad, near the 
head of Main street, and had both legs taken off at the knee.  Morris Woolf helped him 
through the hospital and set him up in business with a small store at Hastings and in a 
few years he had built up the largest clothing business in the county outside of 
Johnstown.  He met with misfortune later and lost all he had but several times 
recuperated and at the time of his going insane had a store in Barnesboro. In later years 
he had become intemperate and this probably led to his removal to Dixmont.

  He was well liked by all who knew him and considering the disadvantages which beset 
him, was a business man of large capacity.
