Friday, June 18, 1909 Volume 43, Number 25 Joseph Gouden Dead Man Found Some Time Ago in Filthy Condition, Dies at Warren Insane Hospital Word was received here Saturday morning of the death of Joseph Gouden of the State Hospital for the Insane at Warren, Pa., Saturday morning. Joseph Gouden was the young man found some months ago with his mother at their home in Summerhill Township. They were indescribably filthy and had to be thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected. Mrs. Gouden died soon after being taken to the Almshouse. A jury of six appointed by Judge O'Connor decided that Joseph Gouden was unable to take care of the Gouden Estate and R. D. Evans of this place, was appointed a committee to look after the man and his property. Gouden was then sent to the institution at Warren. The remains of Joseph Gouden were buried beside those of his mother at New Germany on Monday.
