E. S. Grumbling Dead 

South Fork, April 15 -- Emmanuel S. Grumbling, aged fifty-
five years, a well known merchant of this place, died 
Sunday morning of cirrhosis of the liver.  Mr. Grumbling 
had been ill about six weeks and had suffered severely.

Mr. Grumbling, who was a native of Cambria County, had been 
in business in South Fork since 1890, having come to this 
place to engage in the general merchandise business.  He 
was successful from the start and about three years ago he 
retired.

He was a faithful and consistent member of the United 
Evangelical Church of South Fork, a member of the United 
Commercial Travelers, being connected with the Johnstown 
Council, No. 303, and a member of the J. T. Stineman Camp 
210 Sons of Veterans.  He was a director in the South Fork 
Water Co., and in the First National Bank here.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Charles, and 
two daughters, Mrs. Ella Miller and Mrs. Sadie Retallic; 
also by his mother, widow of the late Charles Grumbling.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the 
United Evangelical Church, with interment in South Fork 
cemetery.
