Friday, 13 Dec 1912 Volume 45, Number 49 Mrs. Guiley Dies at Home of Daughter Ebensburg people were greatly shocked Wednesday evening to learn of the death of Mrs. M. L. Guiley, mother of Mrs. Horace A. Tompkins of Horner street, this place. Mrs. Guiley contracted a severe cold a few days ago. It developed into pneumonia which, with heart trouble, caused her death at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening. Mr. Tompkins' mother died of pneumonia at the same home only a week previous. Mrs. Margaret Isabella Guiley was born Oct. 2, 1835 in Springtown, Bucks county. She became the wife of John Guiley who died a number of years ago. Three children survive Mrs. Guiley – Mrs. Horace Tompkins of Ebensburg; Mrs. Emily I. Musser of Allentown, Pa., widow of W. S. Musser of Westover; and Mrs. Catharine Gabriel, wife of J. O. Gabriel of Philadelphia. A son and daughter of Mrs. Guiley preceded her in death. The funeral in Ebensburg took place Thursday evening at 7 o'clock at the Tompkins home on Horner street, services being in the charge of the Rev. E. C. Reeves of the Clearfield Presbyterian church. The body was taken to Easton for interment. Mrs. Guiley came to visit her daughter last October.
