Wednesday, November 25, 1863 KILLED BY A FALL - James Hamilton, Sr., (shoemaker) a resident of Conemaugh Borough, Cambria co., was killed near Penn Stadt., Westmoreland county, on the 14th inst., by falling over a culbert [culvert] on the railroad. He was walking on the railroad, and meeting a train, stepped to one side and unfortunately missed his footing and fell a distance of about thirty feet, causing injuries from which he died in about three hours.
