Friday, October 17, 1902 OBITUARY Mrs. Susan Hasson, relict of the late Michael Hasson, Esq., died at the residence of her nephew, Mr. E. C. Parrish in Ebensburg, on Thursday morning, in the 83rd year of her age. The deceased was born in Munster township, this county, December 20th, 1819, and was a daughter of John and Ann Myers, long since deceased. On May 29th, 1838, she was united in marriage to John Scanlan, Jr., of Allegheny township, this county, who died June 18th, 1839, as the result of a gunning accident. To this union was born one child, John E. Scanlan, Esq., who died in Ebensburg, May 1st, 1886. On the 16th of June, 1846, she was married to the late Michael Hasson, Esq., who died October 8th, 1866. To this union was born one son, James G. Hasson, the editor of this paper. Up until a few days ago the deceased had been in fairly good health, considering her advanced years, when she was seized with cramps which terminated fatally on Thursday morning at 6 o'clock. She was a good wife and kind mother and was esteemed and respected by all who knew her. Besides the son mentioned above, the deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Parrish, of Ebensburg, and Mrs. John Anstead of Reading, Pa., and one brother, J D. Myers, of Freeland, Pa. The late James Myers of Ebensburg was a brother. Robert Scanlan, cashier of the American National Bank of Ebensburg, Pa., John Scanlan of Philadelphia, and Mrs. P. J. Fogarty, of Greensburg, Pa., are grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock when, after a High Mass of Requiem, in the Church of the Holy Name in Ebensburg, the remains will be interred in the cemetery adjoining.
