John Hochstein, aged seventy-seven years, died of paralysis at the home of his son, John, No. 948 Franklin street, Eight Ward, at 3 o'clock this morning. The deceased was a native of Germany, having been born there in 1826, and came to America many years ago. He is survived by his wife, whose maiden names was Christina Schmidt; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Widdersheim, of Akron, O., and three sons — William and Charles, of Lorain, and John, mentioned above. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Thursday morning. The Rev. Hugo R. Erdmann, pastor of Zion's German Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member, will conduct the services at the Hochstein home, and interment will be made in Grand-View Cemetery.
