Friday, 24 Nov 1905 Volume 39, Number 46 Mrs. Hattie Howells The sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Hattie Howells, wife of Cyrus Howells, at her home in Johnstown last Saturday proved a sad shock for her many friends and relatives in this community. Mrs. Howells, whose illness was noted in the columns of this paper last Friday, grew gradually worse from a severe cold contracted a week or two previous until Sunday when she succumbed, despite the efforts of three attending physicians to save her life. Dr. Fremont C. Jones of this place made an effort to reach Johnstown before she died, but when he arrived at her bedside she had breathed her last. Mrs. Howells was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tibbott of Ebensburg and was aged 24 years at the time of her death and was married to Cyrus Howells last February. She is survived by her father, husband and one brother – Russell Tibbott – and three sisters, [first name of this sister is missing from the newspaper] wife of R. E. Treese of Ebensburg and Misses Mary and Dorothy Tibbott at home. The body was brought to Ebensburg Saturday evening following which the funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Congregational church by the Rev. J. Twyson Jones, the interment being made in the Lloyd cemetery.
