Wednesday, 26 Mar 1862 DIED - Wm. W. Ivory, of Cambria county, well known to many citizens of this place, was killed at Paris, Tennessee, on the 12th inst., in a battle between a battalion of Union troops, and the rebels, in which the latter were routed with a loss of one hundred killed wounded, and prisoners. Our loss was five killed and four wounded. Democratic Standard Hollidaysburg, Pa. Wednesday, 16 Apr 1862 STILL LIVES - The Ebensburg Democrat pronounces the reported death of Maj. W. Ivory untrue, and says that letters have been received from him, written since the day he was said to have been killed, at which time he was still alive and kicking. Glad to hear it.
