JENKINS TAKEN BY DEATH Joseph E. Jenkins, 82, 2153 E 30th St., one-time Lorain Co. horseshoe pitching champion, died at 10:40 p.m. yesterday in his home after an illness of 19 months Jenkins won the horseshoe pitching title in the county in 1929. He came to Lorain from Johnstown, Pa., 33 years ago and was employed for 23 years at the National Tube Co., retiring in 1932. He attended the Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Culp, Cleveland, Mrs. Harley Gibbs, Elyria, Mrs. Thomas King, Mrs. Charles Baker, at home six sons, Samuel and James, Amherst, John, George, Lewis and Archie, Lorain, one brother Edward, Johnstown, 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His wife, Lily, died in July 1936. The body was taken to the residence late today. Services will be there at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Elton C. Hukill, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in charge of Reichlin and Cooley.
