All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Johnstown Tribune 21 Aug 1916 Joseph Jenkins, at one time Justice of the Peace of West Taylor Township, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Hanley, in Milwaukee, Wis. aged 78 years. He has been making his home in Milwaukee since 1913. The remains were brought to Johnstown this afternoon, and were taken to the home of the deceased's son, Benjamin M. Jenkins, of Hemlock Street, Lower Yoder Township, from where the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon. The services will be conducted by the Rev. J. W. Mills, of the Morrellville Church of the Brethren. Burial will be made in Grandview Cemetery. Joseph Jenkins was born in 1838 in Mifflin County, this state, and served in the Civil War in one of the companies that was recruited in that county. Mr. Jenkins located in Johnstown in 1878. He is survived by a brother, Jackson Jenkins, of McVeytown, and these children: Samuel J., of Altoona; Joseph E. of Lorain, O; Benjamin M. of Lower Yoder Township; Ambrose of Ohio; John M. of West Taylor Township; Clarence E. of Morrellville; and Mrs. Annie Hanley of Milwaukee. Mrs. Rebecca Gross Jenkins, wife of Joseph Jenkins, died in this place four years ago.
