All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Johnstown Tribune 12 Apr 1937 JACKSON TOWNSHIP NATIVE HAD BEEN MAKING HER HOME WITH DAUGHTER Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins, 85, died at 3:00 o'clock this morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Harmon of 502 Fairfield Avenue, Lower Yoder Township. Complications incident to advance age were given as the cause of death. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Jackson Township, a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Dishong) Albaugh. She was thrice married. Her first husband, Messiah Moyer, expired 58 years ago and her second husband, Samuel Brallier, passed away in 1894. Surviving is her third husband, Ben Jenkins, to whom she was united in marriage in 1896. The ceremony was performed in Jackson Township by Rev. Daniel Brallier, a Church of the Brethren minister. Mrs. Jenkins leaves the following children, all to her first two marriages, Viola, wife of W. W. Oakes, 131 Lorain Street, Mrs. Victoria Wolford, 222 Horner Street, W. B. Braller, Lower Yoder Township, and Naomi, wife of Nelson Harmon, at whose home she died. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren and four half-brother and a half-sister. - Fred Clevenger of Lower Yoder Township, Henry Clevenger, of Cherrytree, John Clevenger of Tannyerville, Noah Clevenger of Boswell, and Mrs. Jacob McDonald of Belsano. Four half-brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. Brief rites will be held at the home at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon followed by services at 2:30 o'clock in the Morrellville Church of the Brethren, of which the deceased was a member. Rev. D. Howard Keiper, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, under the direction of Mortician Carl E. Davis of Conemaugh.
